Each individual tutoring session lasts (1) hour, with a minimum requirement of receiving services at least (2) times a week. It is the parent or guardian's responsibility to make the arrangements (time and place) with the tutor for weekly sessions. If a parent or guardian requests temporary online homework assistance only, then the minimum requirement is (20) minutes.
A student's level of progress is measured by observation, Q & A responses, biweekly quizzes and tests we administer and school data such as progress reports, grades and parent/teacher evaluations.
Tutoring services are provided Monday-Friday 9:00 am-8:00 pm EST and Saturday 9:00 am-12:00 pm EST
It is best to request early!!! Although students can request a tutor at any time in the school year, tutoring is most effective if you begin early in the school year. Donโt wait until your child develops significant problems!
To request a tutor, parents need to fill out a Request Form. Whatever service is requested for that student, a pretest is administered to determine what skills they show strengths and weakness in. Based on the results of the pretest along with previous state standardized test results and parent/ teacher evaluation, is how a student's lessons are customized.
We give our clients the option to choose in home or online tutoring.
If a parent prefers in home tutoring, we would tutor in the student's home or central location between the tutor and student. This decision would be made entirely between the tutor and parent. We prefer that travel be no more than a 25 minute commute for the tutor or parent. There may also be a travel fee applied each week if the tutor travels to the student's home.
If the parent prefers weekly online tutoring, then it would just be a flat rate per hour depending on the subject(s) tutoring is requested in.
No. We are not a company that provides instruction strictly for state standardized testing. We provide tutoring for students who specifically display a weakness in the requested subject. We hope that with our assistance, a student would be able to pass a state standardized test. However, it is ultimately up to how receptive, focused and determined the student is while receiving our services.
It depends on the specific needs of the student and how quickly they are able to retain the information. As mentioned in the previous answer, it is ultimately up to how receptive, focused and determined the student is while receiving instruction. We also try various methods during our sessions to accommodate the needs of the student while making it more fun and creative for the student to learn.
Yes, we do. In the past, tutoring has been provided to students with ADHD and Autism. However in this case, it is highly recommended that you request in home tutoring services due to the specific attention that is needed for these students.
